Typically with diesel gensets the low frequency sound power is all controlling, usually 125-500Hz. These frequencies, due to their long wavelength (1.47-2.72m), are extremely challenging to treat.
Our approach is to treat the canopy holistically, giving consideration to multiple noise paths and their comparative levels and frequencies, thereby allowing us to hone our treatment to best effect.
The client following the revised design was able to take their product to market and remain in accordance with environmental noise legislation.
