Purpose of this position
The Product Manager will own the New Product Development (NPD) process and will be responsible for identifying, developing and commercialising new product opportunities that support Siderise's strategic growth ambitions in the UK and internationally. The role will lead the multifunctional coordination aspects of the NPD process from market opportunity identification and business case development through product development, testing and certification to successful market launch and post-launch growth. A particular focus will be placed on identifying portfolio gaps and introducing Siderise products into new applications and geographic markets.

Key responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Innovation Pipeline
    Own and develop the product strategy and roadmap, aligned with Siderise's strategic growth objectives, target applications and geographic markets. Build and maintain a prioritised pipeline of new product opportunities based on customer needs, market trends, regulatory developments, competitive gaps and emerging construction methods.
  • Market & Customer Insight
    Develop a deep understanding of customer, specifier and installer requirements through structured engagement with customers and key industry partners. Translate market insight, unmet needs and customer pain points into clearly defined product requirements and development opportunities.
  • New Product Development
    Lead the commercial and cross-functional delivery of new products from initial opportunity identification through feasibility, business case, development, testing, certification, manufacturing readiness and commercial launch.
    Work closely with Technical, R&D, Operations and Sales to establish clear product requirements, development milestones, resources, budgets and timelines.
  • Business Cases & Opportunity Validation
    Develop robust business cases for new products and market opportunities, including addressable market, customer demand, competitive positioning, pricing, anticipated volumes, development costs, certification requirements, margin and return on investment.
  • International Product Introduction & Market Expansion
    Lead the introduction of Siderise products into new international markets, identifying market-specific customer requirements, applications, regulations, certification requirements, competitive dynamics and routes to market.
    Work with regional commercial and technical teams to identify portfolio gaps and establish market-entry plans that ensure products are technically compliant, commercially relevant and launch-ready within each target geography.
  • Cross-Functional NPD Leadership
    Act as the central coordinator across Sales, Marketing, Technical, R&D, Certification, Manufacturing, Procurement and Supply Chain, ensuring new products progress efficiently from concept to commercialisation in a time efficient manner.
    Establish clear responsibilities, milestones, decision gates and escalation processes for each development programme.
  • Product Commercialisation & Launch
    Own the commercial readiness and launch of new products, developing comprehensive go-to-market plans covering target customers and applications, positioning, value proposition, pricing, sales forecasts, launch communications, technical collateral, samples, training and sales enablement (as per the staged gate process). Ensure Sales and Technical teams are fully equipped to successfully introduce and support products in the market.
  • Post-Launch Performance & Product Lifecycle
    Monitor new product performance following launch against agreed KPIs including revenue, margin, pipeline, specification activity, customer adoption and geographic penetration. Gather structured market feedback and coordinate improvements to products, documentation, positioning and commercial strategy.
  • Maintain a structured understanding of competitor portfolios, emerging technologies, construction methods, regulatory developments and market trends across Siderise's priority markets. Translate this intelligence into recommendations for new products, product enhancements, partnerships and market-entry opportunities.
  • NPD Programme Management: Continuously develop, improve and manage detailed plans for new product development programmes, establishing milestones, stage gates, resources, budgets, dependencies and responsibilities. Proactively identify risks and barriers to delivery and coordinate cross-functional actions to ensure products are developed and launched within agreed timelines and budgets. Provide monthly progress reports in an effective and insightful way.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a Construction discipline, Fire Engineering, Business, or a related field; professional qualifications in marketing or project management would also be considered
  • Proven experience in construction project management or product management; typically, 5–10 years’ experience
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., IFE Level 2 or 3 or product management certifications)
  • Practical experience through work placements, or project management roles in construction is valuable for career progression
