FIP Façade Interface Panel for end of partitions

Acoustic board limiting sound transmission where curtain walls and internal partitions abut

Delivering room-to-room noise separation between partitions and facades

FIPFaçade Interface Panel for end of partitions has been specially developed to prevent noise transmission at the junction between internal partitions and curtain walls or window mullions. Its elastomeric core is bonded between two high mas cementitious boards, ensuring good performance at lower frequencies (stiffness and dampening controlled regions) and no ‘drop-off’ due to coincidence dip.

Up to 30 minutes fire resistance

FIP Façade Interface Panel has been tested to EN 1366-4:2021 for up to 30 minutes fire resistance (integrity and insulation).

Tested acoustic performance

FIP Façade Interface Panel can reduce room-to-room sound transmission, improving privacy and preventing disturbance from neighbouring rooms. Tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 10140-2:2021.

Range of applications

FIP Façade Interface Panel is available in widths of 100-300mm with a 30minute EI performance for use as a fire barrier and 100-600mm when used as an acoustic barrier only.

FAQs

Is Siderise FIP panel supplied pre-cut?

We supply cut to the correct width in standard lengths of 2.4m. Site cutting may be necessary for small, localised areas, such as around skirting boards or cutting to length. Please view the additional cutting information on the installation guidance.

What if the area to be treated is above 2.4m?

This is possible by using two panels, butt-jointed, with the smaller length panel placed above the full length piece.

How is the FIP fixed into place?

The most common method of fixing is with a 2mm steel C channel mechanically fixed to the mullion, head, and floor. The FIP board is cut to length and slid into the sections and the partition is constructed to oversail the board by a predesigned length.

Is the FIP a finished product?

The outer finish of the panels is not decorative and intended to be decorated after installation.
