Siderise strengthens decarbonisation efforts with new solar PV installation
We have taken another significant step towards achieving our target of net-zero Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by the end of 2030 with the installation of a new solar photovoltaic (PV) system at our Wales headquarters and manufacturing facility.
The investment supports our broader energy strategy and contributes to our target of sourcing 20% of our energy from on-site renewable sources across our sites. It also builds on our existing procurement of renewable electricity by enabling us to generate more of our electricity directly on-site, reducing reliance on grid-supplied power and strengthening the long-term resilience of our operations.
The new 249 kWp system has been installed at our main manufacturing and office facilities and builds on a pilot PV installation at our Innovation Centre completed in 2024. The system is expected to generate approximately 209 MWh of renewable electricity annually, supplying around 20% of the site’s electricity demand through on-site generation.
Over its lifetime, the installation is projected to avoid more than 1,300 tonnes of CO₂e.
Sera Turkoglu, ESG Director, explains:
“Decarbonisation is not achieved through ambition alone; it requires practical investment, long-term planning and the integration of sustainability into the way we operate. Expanding our on-site renewable electricity generation is an important step in building a more resilient and lower-carbon business. As Siderise continues to grow, our responsibility is to ensure that growth is supported by credible action, stronger energy management and sustainable practices across our global operations.”
