A year of progress – a roundup of Siderise successes
As we approach the end of another fast-paced year in construction, we’re reflecting on a year defined by innovation, growth, and collaboration. From new product launches to sustainability milestones, here are some of our standout achievements.
Quarter 1
RH 120 Rainscreen Horizontal Cavity Barrier
We kicked off 2025 by launching our 2-hour rated version of Siderise RH Rainscreen Horizontal Cavity Barrier. Developed to meet the growing industry demand for fire resistance performance, this new version provides 120 minutes of passive fire protection.
Specification Packs
February saw the launch of our Specification Packs. Running across our core product lines, these packs are designed to collate all relevant product information (such as third-party certifications, BIM objects, installation instructions, and training information) into one document to make the specification process quicker and simpler.
Siderise Academy
Our Siderise Academy online platform launched in March. Created by our technical experts, the Academy offers a range of on-demand courses, webinars and CPD modules, supported with reading materials and interactive assessments. The content aligns with industry standards and can be used towards competency pathways. We are continuously adding content, so sign up for your free account here.
Quarter 2
Dubai Manufacturing Facility
In April, we opened our Dubai site— our first manufacturing site outside the UK. Initially producing RH Horizontal Cavity Barriers, the facility has cut delivery times from weeks to just 3–5 days—strengthening our presence in the Middle East.
Sunday Times Best Places to Work
For the second year running, Siderise Group was recognised as one of the Sunday Times Best Places to Work, scoring 80% or greater across six categories – reward and recognition, information sharing, empowerment, wellbeing, instilling pride and job satisfaction.
CIPD HR 30
Our Chief HR Officer, Mark Hendy FCIPD, was listed on the CIPD HR 30 in June, making him one of the UK’s top professionals driving transformational and impactful changes in their organisations
Quarter 3
AT Webinar
We partnered with Architecture Today in July on its Fire, Health, and Life Safety Design webinar, exploring how architects can meet their obligations and responsibilities regarding Gateway 2 and the Building Safety Act. Darren Brennan, Specification Manager at Siderise, highlighted the importance of early engagement with manufacturers in achieving compliant and coordinated fire safety strategies.
BES 6001
We achieved certification to the latest version of the BES 6001 standard for our full range of stone wool passive fire protection and acoustic products manufactured at our Maesteg factory in South Wales.
Cut -strip Service
In September, we demonstrated our commitment to our ‘customer first’ value by introducing the Cut-strip Service, factory-engineered, bespoke cut-to-size cavity barriers and firestops. This helps to reduce waste, increase installation speeds and improve sustainable site practices.
Quarter 4
Sustainability Report
Our second sustainability report was released in October, covering the efforts and progress we made in 2024 towards our ESG targets, including:
A detailed decarbonisation plan required to meet our target of net-zero by the end of 2030.
Achieving our interim target for 70% of company vehicles to be electric.
Publishing our first Health Product Declaration (HPD) for all our firestop and cavity barrier solutions and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for CW-CB Cavity Barrier, CW-FS Firestop and RV Vertical Cavity Barrier.
Innovation of the Year – ASFP Awards
Our work on the G-Gate project at London’s Olympia was honoured as Innovation of the Year at the 2025 ASFP Awards, hosted on the 27th November. A bespoke pleated rainscreen cavity barrier was engineered specifically for the G-Gate building’s unconventionally shaped ‘fin’. ASFP called this project “An exemplar of technical ingenuity and collaboratively developed fire safety engineering”.
Finally, in December, our CW-FS Firestop and CW-CB Cavity Barrier system was selected as a 2025 Architectural Record Product of the Year in the ‘Building Systems & Materials’ category by Architectural Record, the leading architecture and design publication headquartered in New York City. This demonstrates the impact our solutions are having in this relatively new market, driving forward our vision to be “global leaders in passive fire solutions for the building envelope.”
To round off the year, we are taking a moment to reflect and celebrate the incredible progress we’ve made this year, defined by growth, collaboration and a strong commitment to our core values. Each achievement reflects the dedication of the people and partners who continue to help us ‘go beyond’ in creating safer, more sustainable buildings.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey this year, and here’s to continuing these successes next year!
