Siderise Tissue Faced Stone Wool Acoustic Lining Slab (ALS)
A black glass tissue faced stone wool slab used for acoustic treatment on walls and ceilings/soffits.
Acoustic lining systems for internal applications
The Siderise Acoustic Lining Sheets are engineered for use in environments where acoustic absorption treatment is required such as auditoria, public buildings, commercial buildings, plant rooms and cinemas. Made from resin-bonded stone wool with a durable black non-woven glass tissue facing, these sheets deliver effective sound absorption and thermal insulation, helping to create quieter, more comfortable spaces.
Ideal for different acoustic wall or ceiling/soffit applications in areas such as auditoria, public buildings, commercial buildings, plant rooms, cinemas, etc.
Acoustic performance is tested to BS EN20354:1993, ISO354:. αW: 0.90 (at thicknesses >50mm)
Constructed with a stone wool core, the product provides thermal insulation with a measured thermal conductivity of 0.034 W/mK, as tested in accordance with EN 12667.
The product has been tested to EN 13501-1:2019 and achieves a classification of A2-s1,d0.
This classification aligns with the internal fire spread requirements for wall and ceiling linings set out in the current edition of the UK Building Regulations Approved Document B.
The black non-woven glass tissue facing helps to prevent fibre shedding from the mineral wool core. The facing is applied by an open structured adhesive to provide optimum and consistent sound absorbing properties.
Siderise ALS acoustic lining slab was developed to provide acoustic absorption for walls and ceilings/soffits. Siderise ALS acoustic lining slab can be used in many different applications such as; auditoria, public buildings, commercial buildings, plant rooms and cinemas. Siderise ALS acoustic lining slab is supplied with a plain black glass tissue facing, typically a secondary aesthetic finish is installed to suit the application. Typical uses include:
- Walls, post covered with stretched fabric or loose fabric (e.g., pleated or hanging drapes)
- Walls, post covered with spaced slats, slotted or perforated timber, or perforated metal sheet
- Soffits, with perforated ceilings or semi exposed ceilings with decorative panels
- Plant room walls and ceilings, retained behind perforated metal sheet (25% or 33% open area)
- Rear of screen areas in Cinemas (Wall / Ceiling surfaces)
Siderise ALS acoustic lining slab is a resin bonded stone wool sound absorbing base material, faced on the exposed surface with a black non-woven glass fabric. The facing is applied by an open structured adhesive to provide consistent sound absorbing properties. The black glass tissue facing helps to prevent fibre shedding from the face of the stone wool.
Sizes and fixing requirements
Depending on the size and thickness of Siderise ALS acoustic lining slab used, and the orientation, the number of fixings required will alter.
The information in Table 1 is offered as guidance only.

- PP1 comprises two black polymer components; a perforated base plate with projecting pin and a non-return washer.
- IH3 is similar to PP1 except that the components are galvanised mild steel.
- For horizontal (soffit & ceiling) installations , we recommend suitable mechanical fixings into the substrate (to be advised by others) and metallic hangers.
For vertical (wall) installations , Siderise Ad-Pin Adhesive is suitable for fixing hangers.
